The Bayraktar TB3 is a Turkish-made unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that has quickly become one of the most sought-after UAVs in the world. It is a highly versatile and capable aircraft that can be used for a variety of missions, including surveillance, reconnaissance, and attack.
UAV stands for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. It is a flying machine that is controlled remotely, without a human pilot on board. UAVs are used for a variety of purposes, including military, civilian, and commercial applications.
Features and Capabilities
The TB3 is an improved version of the TB2 drone. It has a slightly different external design with a larger fuselage and foldable wings for easy storage and use on ships. It keeps the twin-boom tail and retractable undercarriage from the TB2. The drone has a "blister" turret for optics, offering a clear 360-degree view.
In terms of size, it's 27.4 feet long, has a 46-foot wingspan, and stands 8.5 feet tall. It can carry up to 620 pounds of payload and weighs a maximum of 3,200 pounds. It's powered by a single TEI PD170 engine at the back. The avionics include cameras, infrared sensors, radar, and targeting equipment.
In terms of performance, it can fly at a maximum speed of 185 mph and cruises at around 145 mph. It can reach altitudes of at least 25,000 feet and fly for over 24 hours.
The TB3 has up to six underwing hardpoints for carrying various precision-guided munitions, making it more versatile than the TB2. It supports automatic take-off and landing and has good communication capabilities for short and long-range operations.
